F\u00f6r att skydda lundarna och naturen kring \u00e5n fredades omr\u00e5det den 10 maj 1984. Den del av skyddsomr\u00e5det som h\u00f6r till Vanda utvidgades 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u00e5ngforsen \u00e4r cirka en kilometer l\u00e5ng och d\u00e4rmed den l\u00e4ngsta forsen i naturtillst\u00e5nd i Vanda \u00e5s nedre lopp. P\u00e5 b\u00e5da sidor om \u00e5n v\u00e4xer frodiga grandominerade lundar. Bland de \u00f6ver etthundra\u00e5riga granarna finns ocks\u00e5 hasselbuskar, skogstry, tibast och f\u00e4rggrant blommande lundv\u00e4xter s\u00e5som springkorn, v\u00e5r\u00e4rt och gullpudra. Tack vare informationstavlorna och de markerade stigarna \u00e4r det l\u00e4tt att bekanta sig med naturen i omr\u00e5det.
