On the Ursin Rock, there is a memorial plaque for the Helsingfors Simms\u00e4llskapet affixed to the stone. During a major renovation, the park received a subtle facelift. A pathway was created from Pyh\u00e4 Birgitta to connect to the Ursin Rock. The park is also home to the 12-meter-tall Memorial to Seafarers and Those Lost at Sea<\/a>, topped with an eternal flame, which was illuminated so that the flame is clearly visible<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park\u2019s skate and play area received a curved seating wall, behind which lilacs have been planted. At the western end of the area, there are basketball hoops and court boundaries painted on the asphalt. Along Merisatamanranta Street, a new perennial garden was created, complemented with small trees<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The shoreline and rocky beach slope, eroded by maritime activity, have been restored by adding more stones. The park\u2019s benches have been renewed and their number increased. The seating areas are illuminated with special lighting, which also guides movement in the dark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The park\u2019s main pedestrian and cycling path is lit with pole-mounted lights. The park path along the sea has been intentionally left unlit, allowing visitors to enjoy the sea even at night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
