Park Promenade Nature and art – parks in Pikku Huopalahti

Pikku Huopalahti was once a scruffy area full of junkyards and car repair shops. It was only developed into an attractive residential area and city district between 1986 and 2000 once new construction technology had been introduced allowing buildings to be constructed on the soft ground. Today the district is so green and picturesque that few of its 10,000 residents remember what it was once like. The local architecture is multifaceted, bright and very much on a human scale. Almost half of the area comprises green areas, and green corridors connect one part to the next.

  • Korppaanpuisto Korpas Park

  • Leikkipuisto Viiri Viiri Play Park

  • Tilkanniitty Tilkka Meadow

  • Pikku Huopalahden puisto Pikku Huopalahti Park

  • The area is characterised by the stream that runs through it and the large bay in the middle that attracts birdlife. The district can be explored by circling the park beside the bay or by returning along the other side. On the way back you can admire the Toimela allotment gardens.
